India is quintessentially a plural society and hence it is very pertinent to locate and harmoniously accommodate modern values and paradigm in the wider plural framework. Various aspects of modern paradigm such as religion-tradition and secularism, nation-state and freedom-equality, justice and ethics, and so on, would be discoursed upon.
